Clemson Brick Plant Operator’s Forum Registration Policies

The Brick Education and Research Foundation (BERF) is proud to present the Clemson Brick Plant Operator’s Forum (the “Event”). By registering for this Event, you agree to follow the Registration Policies below. “BERF” or “Event Hosts” refers to us, the Brick Education and Research Foundation and any of our management companies and venues assisting with the Event. “Registrant” or “you” refers to the person registering to attend.

1. Registration Fee. Your registration fee covers your entry to the Event. You are responsible for all other costs, including travel, accommodation, and any for-purchase items or services related to the Event.
2. Cancellations and Refunds. We look forward to seeing you at the Event and hope you do not need to cancel your registration. If you do need to cancel, you must send BERF a cancellation request in writing (email is acceptable). Cancellations made by close of business on September 18th, 2026, will result in a refund of registration fees, minus a cancellation fee of $100. After this date, we do not offer any refunds.
3. Changes to Event. BERF reserves the right to change the format (including from a physical to a virtual event), content, location, venue, hours, duration, dates, other timings, participants and/or any other aspect of the Event, in each case without liability. Provided, however, that if BERF cancels or changes the date of the Event (unless due to Force Majeure, discussed below), you will be eligible for a credit toward any rescheduled or future similar event that is reasonably close in time and place to the originally scheduled event, or, at Event Hosts’ discretion, a refund of registration fees paid if the Event cannot be so rescheduled. The maximum liability of Event Hosts to you from any cancellation or change shall be a refund of registration payments received from you.
4. Contagious Illness. You agree not to attend any in-person portions of the Event if you have had, within 24 hours of the Event, any symptoms that could reasonably indicate a contagious illness, including fever, chills, fatigue, cough, runny nose, headache, and muscle or body aches, among others. You agree to take precautions to avoid the risk of spreading any such illness. You understand and agree that attending any in-person event carries a risk of contracting an illness and agree to hold Event Hosts harmless for any circumstances relating to such an illness if contracted.
5. Age. You must be at least 21 years of age to register for and to attend the Event.
6. Photography/Recording/Use of Content. You understand that photos and recordings may be captured during the Event, including of your likeness, and you consent to the Event Hosts’ use of any image or recording captured at the Event, including for publicity and posting on websites or social media. You may not record or photograph the Event unless expressly authorized by Event Hosts. If you are permitted to record or photograph the Event, you agree to share this content with us and allow us to freely for Educational purposes use it without payment to you. If you use, perform, or present any content at the Event, you represent that you have permission to do so and that this permission includes use by the Event Hosts in connection with the Event.
7. Alcohol Consumption. Registrants of legal age may choose to consume alcohol at any portions of the Event where it is served but understand that consumption shall be at Registrant’s own discretion, risk, and liability and must be according to policies in place at the Event and applicable law. Event Hosts reserve the right, without any liability, to excuse any Registrant from the Event if the Registrant becomes inebriated or has the potential to cause harm or disruption to the Event. Registrants assume all risk involved with the consumption of alcohol by themselves and other attendees and unconditionally hold the Event Hosts harmless from any associated claims. Registrants may not bring or consume their own alcohol at the Event, unless specifically granted permission from Event Hosts. Consumption of alcohol may only occur at designated locations at the Event.
8. Registrants NOT affiliated with an Event Sponsor and who are NOT employed by a brick manufacturing company agree that they are attending the event for personal interest and personal benefit only. These specific Registrants hereby agree to a non-compete clause, such that they are bound while in attendance of the Event to not engage in any activities or conduct that seeks to solicit business contacts, contracts, agreements or the like, directly or indirectly, or in any way that would mimic the behavior of, and would therefore compete with, Event Sponsors who have paid Sponsorship Fees. The Event Host has the discretion and authority to remove any Registrants who behave in contradiction to these terms; said Registrants will forfeit their registration fees if made to leave the Event for this behavior. Any Registrant who feels they are unable to abide by these terms is invited to become an Event Sponsor and to attend in that capacity.
9. Hold Harmless, Indemnification & Limitation of Liability. Your attendance at the Event is completely voluntary and is at your own risk, and you voluntarily assume any and all risks and hazards, including personal injury, illness, or otherwise. You release Event Hosts and their officers, employees, partners, contractors, and vendors from any liability related to your attendance, and agree, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to indemnify, defend, and hold them harmless from and against any and all claims, actions, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses for bodily injury or personal injury (including death), or loss or damage to tangible or intangible property caused, or alleged to be caused in whole or part, by your acts or omissions, including acts or omissions in violation of these Registration Policies. Your obligation to indemnify does not apply where prohibited or limited by law, or to claims arising solely from the negligent or willful acts or omissions of the Event Hosts. In no event will the Event Hosts be liable to Registrants for any indirect, consequential, special, incidental or punitive damages. The maximum liability of Event Hosts to Registrants in connection with the Event shall be a refund of registration payments received from Registrants.
10. Data Terms of Use. You consent to our collecting personal data in connection with the Event and to keep you informed about the Event. This data includes information used to identify you, such as your name, phone number, and email address. This data may be processed in a printed and/or electronic form using automated communication systems and may be used in connection with providing services related to the Event. We may share this data with Event sponsors and where required by law. We retain this data as needed to provide information to you about the Event and other upcoming events.
11. Changes to Terms. BERF reserves the right to amend these Registration Policies from time to time in its sole discretion. If there are any material changes to these Registration Policies after your registration, you may decline to attend and request a full refund, but your decision to attend the Event shall confirm your agreement to be bound to the Registration Policies in effect at the time of the Event.
12. Force Majeure. Event Hosts are not responsible or liable for any non-performance or delayed performance resulting from any matter or circumstance beyond their reasonable control, including, among others, war, public emergency, pandemic, public health threat, calamity, strike, labor disturbances, fire, interruption of transportation or utility services, earthquake, weather event, explosion, volcanic eruption, unavailability of venue, or any other disturbances or restrictions that would frustrate or prevent the Event from occurring. Event Hosts are under no obligation to make any refund or pay any other amounts to Registrant in such situation.
13. Event Hosts’ Discretion; Compliance with Law. The Event Hosts have the discretion to take any action they deem appropriate with respect to violations of these Registration Policies. The Event Hosts expressly reserve all rights and remedies available by law or in equity, and reserve the right without liability to refuse admission to, or to eject/block from, the Event any person in their absolute discretion, including any person who fails to comply with these Registration Policies or policies of the venue where the event is held, or who, in the opinion of the Event Hosts, violates the law or represents a security risk, nuisance, or annoyance to the running of the Event. You agree to comply with all reasonable instructions issued by the Event Hosts, the venue owners, security personnel, and/or management at the Event.
14. Governing Law; Disputes. These Registration Policies shall be governed by the State of South Carolina without giving effect to any choice or conflict of law provision or rule. You consent to jurisdiction and venue for any court proceedings arising out of or relating to the Event or these Registration Policies exclusively in the state or federal courts sitting in Anderson County, South Carolina. You agree to waive any right to a jury trial and also agree that any claims will be litigated or otherwise resolved on an individual basis, waiving any right to act on a class-wide basis.
